LOVE SICK Ein Spielfilmprojekt von Michael Glawogger
Kinospielfilm | Regie: Michael Glawogger | Länge: 90 Min. | Drehzeitraum: Anfang 2010
A JOURNALIST and a PHOTOGRAPHER are sent to South-East Asia by a newspaper. They are supposed to report on the impact of the KHMER ROUGE on CAMBODIA and to get an interview with their legendary leader POL POT. At first it is just a job: a flight to Bangkok, a nocturnal meeting in the jungle, a botched interview, a few pictures of girls with assault rifles. Hardly enough to come home with. The journalist and the photographer forget about work for a while. Night after night they enjoy bars and prostitutes. So the journalist becomes a BUTTERFLY BOY - moving from one pretty flower to the next. Then VANNA walks through the door. She is an illiterate prostitute who lives in the slums of Phnom Penh. Soon the Butterfly Boy finds himself involved in a love story full of inexplicable passions, mysterious gestures and alien feelings. But even after his love has been fulfilled, he stays what he has always been a butterfly. Seeing Vanna in all women, seeing all women in Vanna.
