The Split Tongue

Fiction feature | Director & Screenplay: Peter Brunner

A man with the mental faculties of a child must save his mother, thereby becoming god and devil.
Twenty-eight-year-old Johannes, a simple-minded man with a cleft lip and palate, lives in an isolated house in the Alps with his pious mother, Maria, whose faith is a mystery to him. When the farm they lease is rezoned for development as a tourist center, a chain of sinister events is set into motion. But who is behind it all, Johannes wonders. Is it the heritage, the mother or the devil? An exorcism that puts Johannes's faith to the test will provide the answer.
