Artist's Dialogue at the Wiener Festwochen 2011
Ulrich Seidl interviewed people about paintings by Francis Bacon. The interview partners weren't art experts, but rather normal Austrian men and women interested in art. The interviews took place backstage, and were shown over video in the auditorium.
Describing the paintings, Ulrich Seidl's guests (such as René Rupnik from his film The Bosom Friend, or Waltraute Bartel from Jesus, You Know also interpreted them, thereby opening a space for personal associations and manifestations of the sensitivities of the observer: art as self-observation and reflection on our social reality.
